BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A man has been arrested for Allegedly stealing a Firearm from Walmart in Bellingham, Washington on August 24th at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Bellingham Police Booked BRASHEARS, JIMMY ROBERT, 35 into Whatcom County Jail on Several charges including Reckless Endangerment, Mal Misch 2nd, Burglary 1st, Theft of a Firearm, Obstructing a Police Officer. Brashears also had a Warrant for Assault 3rd on a Law Enforcement Officer. According to Court Records.

According to the Police Report: Subject posed an immediate threat to the public at Walmart. Subject broke into secured firearm case and stole a shotgun. Subject then attempted to steal ammo.

Arrested: BRASHEARS, JIMMY ROBERT Age: 35 (DOB: Jan 11 1987 )

Theft of a firearm is a Class B felony under Washington law. The crime is punishable by: A maximum prison sentence of 10 years, and/or. A maximum fine of $20,000 according to Black & Askerov PLLC.

According to KGMI, and Cascadia Daily News, the suspect is from Lynden, Washington, and that Bellingham Police initially responded to an active shooter call at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the Walmart.
